Much is being said about the remodelling that should be carried out of our stadium, but the entire Boca world has to be taken into account. So the moment has come to review the ideas which we want to materialize in the years to come. The works to be carried out are listed below.
1-The Stadium
It is a fact that on account of its architectural design our stadium is unique in the world, and this gives us the identity that makes us Boca people so different from everybody else. It is important to announce that effort is already being expended on the approval by the pertinent entities of the features of the remodelling and overhaul of the diverse sectors of the stadium.
A) The construction of a new floor on top of the sector harboring the boxes. This new level will be closed in by a continuous double glass pane spanning from one extreme to the other. This is where the press of the different media will be lodged, be it print, radio or TV. From there the newsmen will be able to scan the total extension of the stadium, going back to what it was like when the press was lodged above Del Valle Iberlucea street. Thus the journalists will be able to carry out their work in comfort, having television, broad band and air conditioning at their disposal, plus an easier access to the new facilities.
B) The space formerly taken up by the broadcasting cabins will be used to create additional floor seats, just like in sector ‘D’, where seats will be installed in the space at present taken up by the newspaper journalists.
The width of the access staircases in the floor seat area will be increased from the present 0.60 meters to 1.50 meters (according to the GCBA norm). This will constitute an improvement for club members, who will come in and leave more comfortably, avoiding the congestions at the end of the games.
C) The concrete seats of the third tray will be replaced by ones made of polipropylene that will have a taller back support. The accesses to this area will also be modified to afford an increased comfort.
Negotiations are under way to obtain the approval for the construction of a tray on top of the third tray along the latter’s whole extension, where 4400 additional seats could be lodged.
D) The remodelling and extension of the dressing room of the local team, which will be equipped with individual box-type clothes change facilities for each player. A mail reception facility will likewise be installed, where club members and fans can deposit comments and suggestions for the players and the technical staff, thus enhancing the relationship between the active and the passive members of the soccer activity.
E) The Medical Department, a model facility among sports clubs, will be enlarged and outfitted with new facilities. An example of these are the water pools for hydrotherapy to improve the recovery of athletes of all sports being practiced.
F) The new access area for buses, those of local as well as visiting teams, will be overhauled. There will be covered areas at the disposal of VIP persons, compatible with the respective FIFA norms, which will increase the security of our visitors.
G) Two elevators, for 20 persons each, will be added at the parking area Nº1, so as to speed up the access not only of disabled persons, but also the people holding floor seat tickets for the second and third trays.
H) Sanitary facilities, amiss at present, will be installed in the boxes sector, thus avoiding long queues during the games’ intermissions. Overhauls in the remaining sanitary facilities of the stadium will also be carried out.
I) The main access and the hall will be remodelled, which will increase comfort not only on soccer match days, but during the week as well. The enhancements at the main access will include a new system of turnstiles, to allow an access more in line with an institution of Boca’s hierarchy. The hall will be reorganized, a mezzanine will be added, as well as space for the exhibition of trophies and prizes. All this without affecting Quinquela Martín’s mural in any way, the true protagonist of this area.
J) The last step would be the painting of the interior of the stadium.-
