The first game of the Apertura tournament is coming up and Carlos Ischia is pondering the line-up with which his team will go onto the field at the Bombonera to face the players from Jujuy.
Rodrigo Palacio has been sidelined from the confined team because he will be spared for the first leg of the South American Recopa’ final that will take place on Wednesday August 13 against Arsenal, the team from Sarandí.
Boca’s coach would field Lucas Castromán to take Palacio’s place.
Palacio’s absence will be compounded by those of Juan Román Riquelme and Fabián Monzón, who are playing in the Argentine National Team at the Olympic Games.
According to this Friday’s practice session the initial eleven men to go out on the field on Sunday to kick-off the Apertura tournament will be:
Goalie Mauricio Caranta; Hugo Ibarra, Julio César Cáceres, Gabriel Paletta and Claudio Morel Rodríguez in the last line; Fabián Vargas, Sebastián Battaglia, Jesús Dátolo and Cristian Chávez at midfield; and Lucas Castromán plus Martín Palermo in the attack.
