This is a practice which starts at an early age, hence it begins with recreational activities as a way to introduce the practitioners to the different elements of the sport and to be able to develop their physical abilities by means of games and play of all kinds.

The practitioners participate in friendly tournaments (both beginners and more advanced ones) and in the metropolitan and national competitions at the federated level.

The Artistic Gymnastics for women requires four types of equipment:

-Vaulting horse
-Asymmetric parallel bars
-Balancing bar
-Floor ( for exercises without equipment)

The Artistic Gymnastics for men requires six types of equipment:

-Vaulting horse
-Gym Rings
-Vaulting horse with attachments at front and back
-Parallel bars
-Fixed bar
-Floor ( for exercises without equipment)
